Honors Program
If you enroll in a 港彩开奖 honors course (they鈥檙e open to anyone), you鈥檙e part of 港彩开奖鈥檚 Honors Program. These smaller, interactive, classes are designed for engaging learning, and are taught by professors who aren鈥檛 just experts in their field but are specifically trained to help students learn. In honors courses, lectures take a back seat to discussion and active learning. Taking an honors course is a great way to see if honors-style learning works for you.
About Honors Courses
A 港彩开奖 Honors course will always have a limit of 20 students, allowing your instructor to pursue the subject in ways not possible with 25 to 40 students. Lively class discussions, use of alternative texts which take a different approach to subject matter, and student participation in class design are some options that may be used.
Students enrolled in Honors courses usually earn grades similar to those they have received in their other classes. Some students feel they do better in Honors courses because they are more active in the learning process.

Honors Scholar Program
If you know you鈥檙e serious about achieving academic success, and you want to be eligible for scholarships and transfer opportunities reserved for students dedicated to excellence, you can .
To become an Honors Scholar, you must complete an application and submit a letter of recommendation from an educator. The is completely online.
You may apply for admission to the Honors Scholar Program at any time, but we encourage you to apply as early as possible in your time at 港彩开奖 to take full advantage of the program's benefits. Honors classes you have taken before you are admitted to the Honors Scholar Program apply toward Honors Scholar requirements. You must meet all program requirements by the time you graduate, regardless of when you enter the program, in order to receive the Honors Scholar designation and its transfer benefits.
Applicants to the Honors Scholar program should meet at least one of the following criteria.
- Achieved a composite ACT score of 25+ or combined SAT score of 1200+.
- Earned a 3.5 GPA from accredited high school or ranked in top 10% of graduating class.
- Tested at 90th percentile ranking or greater on GED.
- Maintained a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 or higher for 12 completed credit hours.
- Successfully passed two 港彩开奖 honors courses with a grade of A or B.
- Awarded membership in a high school honor society (NHS, OHS, etc.).
- Recognized with academic or creative awards for special achievement or accomplishments.
Honors Scholars take a minimum of 15 credit hours of Honors classes, earn 60 honors excellence points, and complete an associate degree.

- Meet the requirements for the associate degree as stated in the 港彩开奖 Catalog.
- Graduate with a 港彩开奖 grade point average of at least 3.5.
Honors Scholars are eligible for priority enrollment, regardless of how many hours they have, but must work with an academic advisor to take advantage of this benefit.
The benefits of being an Honors Scholar include special scholarship opportunities, such as the 港彩开奖 Honors Tuition Waiver and a large transfer scholarship from The University of Tulsa.
Honors Scholars have the opportunity to present their research at regional honors conferences, and each Honors class is labeled "Honors" on your 港彩开奖 transcript.
If you complete the Honors Scholar program and graduate with an overall 港彩开奖 grade point average of at least 3.5, your transcript will bear the Honors Scholar designation, and you will receive special recognition at Commencement (Honors medallion).
