Direct Degree: New College Option For Working Adults
Beginning this fall, ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± offers working adults a new option to complete a college degree. The College is launching an accelerated format called Direct Degree where students take focused courses to fit their busy schedule by combining evening and online classes.

Student Success Center to be Named after the Hardesty Family
Plans for a Student Success Center on ¸Û²Ê¿ª½±â€™s West Campus move forward as the Hardesty Family Foundation announces a $1 million gift to ¸Û²Ê¿ª½±â€™s largest fundraising campaign, Clearing the Pathway: The Campaign for Completion. The College also announced the new facility will be named after Roger Hardesty and his wife, Donna Hardesty.

A learning space for ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± students to get clinical, hands-on learning in the Physical Therapist Assistant program is being recognized nationally as an innovative workforce development program. ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± is a 2019 Bellwether finalist in the Workforce Development category for the creation of the Nate Waters Physical Therapy Clinic at the ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± Metro Campus.

The Higher Learning Commission has reaffirmed ¸Û²Ê¿ª½±â€™s accreditation. ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± is the largest community college in the state of Oklahoma serving 24,000 students annually in college credit courses.

¸Û²Ê¿ª½± Expands Mental Health First Aid Training with Grant
¸Û²Ê¿ª½± receives a $375,000 grant to expand mental health training for faculty, staff and a select group of students. The grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has a goal to reach most of ¸Û²Ê¿ª½±â€™s full time faculty and staff. So far, ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± has already trained 150 faculty and staff in Mental Health First Aid and plans to train an additional 630 faculty, staff and select students over a three-year period.

¸Û²Ê¿ª½± Announces Campaign for Completion
¸Û²Ê¿ª½± kicked off the public phase of Clearing the Pathway: The Campaign for Completion, the largest fundraising campaign in ¸Û²Ê¿ª½±â€™s history. The Campaign will raise $20 million in private funds to support student scholarships, academic advisors, Student Success Centers, science lab renovations and diversity and inclusion outreach.
