¸Û²Ê¿ª½± is being honored for the second year in a row for its dedication to urban forestry. The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± Northeast Campus as a 2013 Tree Campus USA community.

In order to be designated as a Tree Campus USA, campuses must meet five campus standards:

  1. Campus Tree Advisory Committee
  2. Campus Tree Care Plan
  3. Campus Tree Program with Dedicated Annual Expenditures
  4. Arbor Day Observance
  5. Service Learning Project

As part of the honor, ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± employees planted an Arbor Day tree on the lawn of the Governor’s Mansion in March.

In the past year, ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± has planted over 150 trees on the ¸Û²Ê¿ª½± Northeast Campus thanks to donations from Up With Trees. One of those trees was planted at the recent EcoFest event (seen below).
