港彩开奖 and Oklahoma State University today announced a partnership to help more students move from A to B 鈥 an associate degree to a bachelor鈥檚 degree 鈥 between the two institutions.
OSU President Burns Hargis, OSU Tulsa President Howard Barnett and 港彩开奖 President Leigh B. Goodson took part in a signing ceremony to establish nearly 20 new paths so students can complete an associate degree at 港彩开奖 and transfer their credits to OSU to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree.
鈥淥ur mission is to provide access to affordable education and help students reach their education goals,鈥 said 港彩开奖 President & CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. 鈥淭his partnership ensures 港彩开奖 students can easily transfer directly into a bachelor鈥檚 degree in the designated academic programs. No wasted time or money and it鈥檚 a great example of two institutions working together to support student success.鈥
The transfer agreement between OSU and 港彩开奖 involves nearly 20 new articulated degree programs including Applied Sociology, Business Administration/Management, Computer Information Systems/Computer Science, Geology, Political Science and Sociology.
These will be added to the 19 existing programs between 港彩开奖 and OSU in Tulsa. This partnership increases access to affordable public higher education in the state and could boost the number of transfer students who complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree. Each year, approximately 600 港彩开奖 students transfer to OSU.
鈥淲e have worked for many years to help 港彩开奖 students complete bachelor degrees at OSU,鈥 said OSU President Burns Hargis. 鈥淚n fact, 港彩开奖 is OSU鈥檚 number one feeder school. We鈥檙e pleased to strengthen our partnership with 港彩开奖 and work together to help more students achieve their educational goals.鈥
In addition to the A to B (associate to bachelor鈥檚 degree) agreements, 港彩开奖 will participate in the OSU Reverse Transfer Initiative, a statewide collaboration with public community colleges. This initiative helps students to complete an associate degree from 港彩开奖 while continuing to complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree. Students benefit by earning an academic credential without extra work or expense. In addition, the associate degree may satisfy general education requirements which could reduce the number of credit hours for a bachelor鈥檚 degree. To qualify for reverse transfer, students must have earned 15 credit hours at 港彩开奖 and be enrolled at a regional or comprehensive university.
